Flashback to 2016, when we were building our house. We’ve moved indoors on the current project, which will have the same wall finishes you see here. We like to use adobe plaster indoors, so that the adobe bricks, mortar, and plaster are all the same material, creating a monolithic wall. (Nothing sticks to mud better than mud!). The plaster is then painted with @bioshieldpaint, manufactured up in Santa Fe. This is a clay paint that pairs well with the mud plaster. The breathability of the walls is a great feature in bathrooms especially, where moisture created by showering can be absorbed by the walls, and then slowly released back into the room. Kenny has been experimenting with plaster recipes, since we’ll be using adobe plaster on the sheetrock walls, too. We’re looking forward to sharing the results. On tap for the next few weeks are plaster, window sills, and hanging interior doors. #adobehouse #adobeinteriors #claypaint #adobeplaster #bioshieldpaint #clawfoottub #adobe #earthenplaster #naturalfinishes #mudplaster
