We’ve been quiet on instagram but busy in real life. Our summer and fall has seen us bouncing between smaller jobs… and longing for the next big ones. It takes an enormous amount of planning to get a new build off the ground, and we’ve been engrossed in that design, drawing, planning and permitting work for our next builds. In the meantime, we keep our employees busy and some revenue coming in with the smaller jobs — earthen plaster, window repairs, building doors. It is rewarding to keep these existing adobe homes in good repair, but it also reminds us why we love new builds so much: you never have to wonder what problems might be lurking behind the stucco, and the predictability of a long project means we always know what’s coming up. Our next building’s fate is in the hands of the permitting officials now, but with a little luck we hope to be laying adobes again soon.
