The north side of the house, with it’s second coat of stucco. You’re looking (left to right) at the master bedroom corner, then the office, utility room, and guest bedroom. From a construction standpoint, we could have made things easier for ourselves if all those rooms shared a single, straight, wall. But it’s the depth and visual interest from all those corners that make this house a pueblo style adobe. It’s in keeping with many of its neighbors here in the Los Griegos neighborhood, where old one-room adobe houses were added on to bit by bit as families grew. Right now, the inside of the house doesn’t look quite so close to finished. Kenny has started cutting parts for cabinets back at the shop while Nathan and Sławomir have been rocking the earthen plaster. We’re planning a “plaster post” soon where we’ll share more details on our approach to interior plaster on our adobe and frame walls. #pueblostyle #earthenarchitecture #adobehouse #santafestyle #stucco #losgriegos #adobeconstruction #newmexicoadobe #abqrealestate #infill #adobearchitecture #adobebuilder
